This painting and the following two were some of my favorites that I saw at the Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid. Frankly, that name is too long for a museum. The walls were salmon-colored yet it wasn’t distracting. The no photography rule was torturing me and resulted in far too much time spent deciding which postcards to purchase from the gift shop. Among the works of Degas, Manet, Miro, Picasso, Pollack, Matisse, Munch and Gaugin, as well as other artists I was newly introduced to, I chose these three paintings to bring home in miniature format.
